Meet the candidates, and vote!

UC Santa Barbara junior forward Nick DePuy is one of three finalists for the LA Soccer News menís college player of the year and a contender for the Soccer News Net Menís College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.

DePuy, from Irvine, Calif., led the Gauchos to the NCAA Sweet 16 by scoring 15 goals, eight of them game-winners, en route to NSCAA first-team All-America recognition and his second straight Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year honor. Th 6-foot-4 striker, who came to UCSB as a midfielder/defender and started 18 games without scoring as a freshman, has tallied 23 goals in 36 games since he was moved to forward in late September 2014, and he has 25 goals (14 game-winners) and two assists in his past two seasons. The Gauchos are 16-0-4 when he scores.

Fan voting accounts for 40 percent toward selection of the Soccer News Net College Boot, and the winner of the popular voting receives the Soccer News Net Supportersí Choice award. Voting for the College Boot is open through Dec. 23.
