UCLA's women can't rally against Oregon State

UCLA's struggling women's team couldn't come back from an early deficit and dropped a 2-1 Pacific 12 Conference decision Saturday afternoon at Oregon State.

Nikki Faris fired the Beavers (6-5-3 overall, 2-4-0 Pac-12) ahead in the 19th minute and assisted Emma Jones' 84th-minute goal.

Darian Jenkins tallied in the 88th minute, her team-best fifth goal of the season, for the Bruins (6-7-1, 2-3-1), who have won just one of their last five games and sit 11 points behind conference leader Stanford. Kodi Lavrusky got the assist.

It was a tight, defensive game, with both teams getting off just three shots on goal.

UCLA is home Friday against Colorado.
