Queretaro 2, Pumas 1
Queretaro (5-4-7, 19 pts) rallied to a 2-1 win over Pumas (5-6-5, 21) Friday at Estadio La Corregidora.
Jaime Valencia slipped the game-winner inside the post in the 65th minute, eight minutes after Edgar Benitez tied the score at 1-1 off a rebound.
Pumas took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Mathias Vidangossy in the 22nd minute. Vidangossy started and finished the play, beginning with a quick pass to Fidel Martinez, who relayed the ball to Daniel Luduena before it came back to Vidangossy.
Tijuana 0, Puebla 0
Tijuana and Puebla (4-7-5, 19 pts) played to a scoreless draw Friday at Estadio Caliente.
Xolos (3-8-5, 17) came closest to snatching the win in the 80th minute, but Jose Garcia could not get his header past netminder Cristian Campestrini.
Neither team will qualify for the playoffs.
America 3, Monterrey 3
Club America and Monterrey battled to a 3-3 draw Saturday at Estadio Azteca.
Dorlan Pabon put the Rayados on the board first with an 11th-minute penalty kick, after Rogelio Funes Mori was brought down in the box by Pablo Aguilar, but second-place America (8-4-4, 28 pts) led 2-1 at the half after goals Osvaldo Martinez snagged a loose ball and scored in the 20th minute and Aguilar got his head on a Rubens Sambueza free kick in the 38th.
Table-topping Monterrey (12-1-3, 37) responded after the intermission with unanswered goals by Carlos Sanchez (56th minute) and Funes Mori (77th), but held the lead only two minutes before Jose Guerrero took a pass from Oribe Peralta and connected from the top of the arc to knot the score once again.
Tigres 0, Veracruz 0
Tigres (5-6-5, 21 pts) and Veracruz played to a scoreless draw Saturday at Estadio Universitario.
Both teams failed to capitalize on early chances. Rafael Sobis launched back-to-back shots for Veracruz in the 27th minute, and Tiburones goalkeeper Sergio Garcia made an athletic stop on Tigres forward Guido Pizarro three minutes later.
Daniel Villalva came closest to putting Veracruz (2-8-6, 14) on the board with a late shot off the post.
Leon 0, Pachuca 0
#4 Leon (8-3-5, 27 pts) and #3 Pachuca (7-6-3, 27) battled to a 0-0 tie Saturday at Estadio Nou Camp.
Both teams mounted spirited attacks, starting with Leon's Elias Hernandez getting an early shot through to Pachuca netminder Oscar Perez. Tuzos forward Hirving Lozano responded with a pair of tries, both turned away by 'keeper William Yarbrough.
Lozano came close again before the intermission, beating Yarbrough with a shot that caromed off defender Guillermo Burdisso and the post.
Morelia 3, Santos Laguna 2
Luis Rey scored in the 66th minute to lift Morelia over Santos Laguna 3-2, and into playoff-eligible seventh place, Saturday at Estadio Morelos.
Santos (8-3-5, 27 pts) led briefly after Diego Gonzalez opened the scoring off a rebound in the 19th minute. Carlos Morales equalized for Monarcas (7-4-5, 25) off a give-and-go with Jefferson Cuero four minutes later, and Juan Pablo Rodriguez made the score 2-1 Morelia from the penalty spot in the 35th, after Cristian Pellerano was fouled in the box.
Jesus Molina equalized for Santos with a header off a corner kick in the closing seconds of the first half.
Rey got past defenders Nestor Araujo and Kristian Alvarez to hammer home the winner with his left foot.
Atlas 3, Chiapas 0
Jefferson Duque led the way with a brace as Atlas blanked Jaguares 3-0 Saturday at Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna.
Jose Maduena scored the game-winner in the 13th minute, chesting the ball down and hammering a shot through the hands of netminder Jorge Villalpando. Duque turned things into a rout with goals in the 30th and 50th minutes. Daniel Alvarez set the table for the first strike, and the second was a long blast out of reach of the diving Villalpando.
The win lifted Atlas (3-4-9, 13 points) over Jaguares (3-3-10, 12) at the bottom of the Clausura table.
Cruz Azul 2, Toluca 0
Cruz Azul struck early and late on their way to a 2-0 win over Toluca Sunday at Estadio Nemesio Diez.
La Maquina (5-7-4, 22 pts) have a slim one-point hold on playoff-eligible eighth place, while Toluca (4-7-5, 19) are in the 11th spot on the table.
Joao Rojas opened the scoring seconds after kickoff with a spectacular inswinging shot from near the right endline that grazed the inside of the near post on its way into the net.
Jorge Benitez added a capper in the 80th minute, after Aldo Leal stole the ball and beat two defenders on a run down the flank.
Toluca's best chance to get on the board came in the form of a second-half penalty kick won by Alexis Vega, but Luis Triverio could not convert.
Chivas 2, Dorados de Sinaloa 1
Chivas booked passage to the Liga MX postseason with Sunday's 2-1 win over Dorados de Sinaloa at Estadio Chivas.
Carlos Cisneros put the Herd on the board in the 20th minute, with a shot that grazed the post on its way into the net, and Carlos Pena converted the game-winning penalty kick in the 55th, after Isaac Brizuela was fouled in the box.
Milton Caraglio saved Dorados from being shut out with a 19-yard goal in the 89th minute.
Chivas are in sixth place at 6-7-3 and 25 points with one week left on the schedule. Dorados (4-2-10, 14) will be relegated at season's end.
